GerrityStone and our customer service representatives will guide you through your project from beginning to end. Completing your project professionally and on time is our priority.

Your experience begins in our showroom, where we help you select the stone, edge detail, and sink style. After narrowing your choices, we will take you into the yard or warehouse to view the material.

If you select a natural stone with an unpredictable pattern, you may choose which part of the slab you want featured. After ordering, our team will digitally measure your counters, fabricate the countertops, and return for installation.

Prepare for Your Template Appointment

Your stone fabricator looks forward to beginning your project with the template process. Before our arrival, review the checklist below to ensure your space is ready for accurate measurements.

Template Checklist

Before We Arrive

Cabinets must be permanently installed, leveled, and aligned before our arrival. We will not shim countertops more than 1/4 inch above the base cabinet elevation. Misaligned cabinets may result in inconsistent overhangs.
When templating over existing countertops, the templater may not be able to see important support areas. Please expect questions so we can fabricate accurately.
Any vertical surface touching the stone must be installed before our arrival, including sheetrock, wallboard, finished panels, and knee walls.
Stoves, cooktops, venting components, and related accessories must be on-site.
Faucets, soap dispensers, sprayers, and other accessories requiring holes in the stone must be on-site.
Existing countertops must be completely clean and free of debris, appliances, and personal items.

Template Checklist

During the Template

The template area must be clear of other trades during the scheduled appointment.
After templating, our templater will review the Template Verification Form with you, including seams, edge type, backsplash size, special requests, and non-standard details.
Farmhouse sinks and heavy cast-iron sinks must be installed permanently before our arrival.
Customer-provided sinks and accessories must be on-site. If GerrityStone lacks a digital sink file, the templater may need to bring the sink to the fabrication shop.
Our templater will photograph the template area to assist project design and fabrication.
Final seam placement is at the fabricator’s discretion because it depends on material color, stability, and size. Seam locations may be adjusted or eliminated.

Important

Your Presence Is Required

Your presence at the template appointment—or the presence of your appointed contractor or designer—is required so our templater can accurately capture your project. If an owner or authorized decision-maker is absent, we may be unable to complete the template during the scheduled window, and a revisit fee may apply.

Final Project Details

Seam Placement & Verification

The Template Verification Form confirms that the template reflects your expectations. Because seam placement depends on the selected material’s color, stability, and dimensions, final seam locations remain at the fabricator’s discretion and may be moved or eliminated when necessary.
