GerrityStone and our customer service team will guide you through your project from beginning to end. Completing your project professionally and on time is our priority.

Your experience begins in our showroom, where we help you choose the type of stone, edge detail, and sink style. Once you narrow down your selections, we will walk you through the yard or warehouse to view the available material.

When you select a natural stone with an unpredictable pattern, GerrityStone gives you the option to choose which part of the slab you would like featured in the finished project. After your order is placed, a member of our team will digitally measure your counters. We will then fabricate your countertops and return with an installation crew.

Our Installation Process

Prepare for Installation Day

Your stone fabricator looks forward to your installation date. Before our arrival, please review the checklist below to ensure your home or job site is fully prepared for our visit.

Installation Checklist

Before We Arrive

A clear and safe path must be available for our installers from the parking area to the installation area.
Unless GerrityStone is removing the existing countertops, all existing countertops must be removed and cabinets must be permanently installed and leveled before our arrival. We will not shim or level countertops more than 1/4 inch above the base cabinet elevation.
We will not remove, adjust, or alter cabinetry, carpentry, wood trim, or millwork. This includes modifications needed for countertops to accept sinks, faucets, cooktops, or accessories.
All plumbing, electrical, and gas services must be disconnected before our arrival. GerrityStone does not provide utility disconnect or reconnect services, including faucets and sinks.
Our installers will mount undermount sinks to the countertop. We cannot install overmount sinks. Please allow 24 hours for the silicone sealant to cure before reconnecting plumbing.
We are responsible for adhesion and caulking of stone-to-stone joints. We are not responsible for caulking or filling joints between stone and sheetrock or tile walls.
Faucets and other accessories must be on-site so our installers can verify hole sizes and locations.

Installation Checklist

During Installation

Any specialized stone supports must be installed before our arrival, including brackets, columns, cleats, and similar support elements.
Please move any appliances that may obstruct the installation area. Our installers cannot move appliances.
The installation area must be clear of other trades during the scheduled installation window.
We recommend applying the final coat of paint after installation. GerrityStone is not responsible for minor scratches to walls, paint, or panels that may occur during installation.
Our installers will photograph the completed project and complete a final walk-through with you. Your signature will be required on the project completion form to confirm acceptance.
Dishwasher brackets must be provided and installed by others.
Choosing not to install a backsplash may leave a gap of up to 3/8 inch. A tile or stone backsplash would normally cover this installation gap.

Important

Your Presence Is Required

Your presence at the installation—or the presence of your appointed contractor or designer—is required so our installers can accurately complete your project. If the owner or an authorized decision-maker is not present, we may be unable to complete the installation and a revisit fee may apply.

Understanding the Nature of Stone Installation

Stone installation involves inherent risks. Countertop material is extremely heavy, and installers may need to work in awkward positions to move and settle the stone safely into its intended location.

Scrapes, chips, dings, or scratches may occasionally occur unintentionally. Although we take every reasonable precaution to avoid damage, these situations are a recognized possibility in construction. GerrityStone reserves the right to correct stone-related issues in real time and to the customer’s satisfaction.
